There are many rising stars in the world of badminton. Among them, Anders Antonsen of Denmark and An Se Young of Korea are the best. These two young players have excellent results this year and are the strongest dark horse in the “YONEX-SUNRISE Hong Kong Open Badminton Championships 2019 part of the HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500”.

22-year-old Anders Antonsen is Denmark’s new hope. In 2019, he has shown his full potential and became famous. He bagged the gold in the European Games and Indonesia Masters and also cruised through the World Championships, defeating several top players until he lost to Momota Kento in the final. Antonsen the No. 4 seed of the Hong Kong Open and ranked 4th in the world will play a young Chinese player Lu Guang Zu in the first round.

An Se Young surprised the world this season and is another up and coming player we shouldn’t miss. She was picked by the national team as a secondary school student in 2018 and has already clinched 4 World Series titles. She defeated 3-time world champion and Olympic gold medalist Carolina Marín last month in the French Open and became the youngest winner (17 years and 264 days old) ever of BWF Super 750 tournament. An, the highest ranking Korean at No. 11 will face the qualifier in the first round. If she advances to the further stage of the event, she will have a great chance to play against Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei.

Tickets of “YONEX-SUNRISE Hong Kong Open Badminton Championships 2019” is now for sale at URBTIX (www.urbtix.hk). Ticket prices are same as last year from $40 to $680. Concession tickets are available for students and senior citizens in some of the sessions. Get your tickets as soon as possible!

Entry tickets to qualifying rounds and round of 32 of Mixed Doubles on 12th November (Tuesday) is free for distribution at the Hong Kong Coliseum on a first come, first served basis while tickets are available.
