“YONEX-SUNRISE Hong Kong Open Badminton Championships 2019 part of the HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500” is about to begin. In addition to the Men’s Singles, the 3 Doubles events are also competitive and anticipating. The two highlight matches of the Men’s Doubles’ first round are Indonesian duo Kevin Sukamuljo/Marcus Gideon up against Chinese Taipei pair Lu Ching-yao/Yang Po-han and Li Junhui/Liu Yuchen of China face Yuki Kaneko/Takuto Inoue of Japan.

Kevin Sukamuljo/Marcus Gideon, with the nick name “Little Yellow Men”, started their partnership in 2015. Although they have never clinched any World Championships, they took 7 main titles this year and secured their world No.1 ranking. The reigning pair are seeking for their 3rd consecutive title in Hong Kong and will take on world No.17, Thailand Masters 2nd runner up Lu Ching-yao/Yang Po-han of Chinese Taipei to show off their strength.

World No.3 Li Junhui/Liu Yuchen known as the future of China’s Men’s Doubles, won the World Championships for the first time last year. They have also reached the top 4 this year. However, the two’s performance are slightly erratic and have only won 1 tournament in the 2019 World Tour. In the first round, they will be tested by Yuki Kaneko/Takuto Inoue of Japan. They must avoid any mistakes that may cause them to fail miserably on this easy task
