Hong Kong is sending their strongest squad to the “YONEX-SUNRISE Hong Kong Open Badminton Championships 2019 part of the HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500”. The Mixed Doubles duo Tang Chun Man/Tse Ying Yuet are the medal hopes. They will face Lee Jhe Huei/ Hsu Ya Ching in the first round. With the support from local fans, hopefully the two are able to advance to the next round.

Tang/Tse, the 2nd runner up of Hong Kong Open 2016, have won many titles and made history for Hong Kong. Although Tse Ying Yuet was injured in the Hong Kong Open last year and rested for nearly half a year. She regained her strength quickly and won the Chinese Taipei Open with Tang Chun Man in September, secured their world No. 10 ranking. Their first round opponent Lee Jhe Huei/Hsu Ya Ching took the title of the lower level U.S. Open. With a better record of previous encounter, Tang/Tse should be able to enter the next round if they can perform their normal level.

Another highlight of Mixed Doubles event is between world No. 16 Tontowi Ahmad/Winny Oktavina Kandow of Indonesia and world No. 21 Takuro Hoki/Wakana Nagahara of Japan. The two pair’s best result in the World Tour both at top 8. There should be some hard battle in this match and only the one with stable performance can took the win.
