Cancellation of “Hong Kong Open Badminton Championships 2021 part of the HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500”
In view of the continuous global instability of COVID-19, Badminton World Federation (BWF) has rescheduled this year’s world tour tournaments of October to December. Part of the tournaments are listed as follows:
Sudirman Cup Finals Vantaa, Finland (26 Sep – 03 Oct)
Thomas & Uber Cup Finals Aarhus, Denmark (09-17 Oct)
Denmark Open – Super 1000 Odense, Denmark (19-24 Oct)
French Open – Super 750 Paris, France (26-31 Oct)
Indonesia Masters – Super 750 Bali, Indonesia (16-21 Nov)
Indonesia Open – Super 1000 Bali, Indonesia (23-28 Nov)
World Tour Finals Bali, Indonesia (01-05 Dec)
World Championships Huelva, Spain (12-19 Dec)
Sudirman Cup Finals Vantaa, Finland (26 Sep – 03 Oct)

As such, ten world tour tournaments which have been scheduled originally are cancelled, including “Hong Kong Open Badminton Championships 2021 part of the HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500”.
Hong Kong Badminton Association (HKBA) has been communicating closely with BWF throughout the period and will cope with the decisions made by BWF.
