Hong Kong Badminton Championships draws to a close As drums performance kicked-off the Finals

As YONEX-SUNRISE Hong Kong Badminton Championships 2018 draws to a close at the Hong Kong Coliseum today (November 18), the tournament organizer held a grand opening before the start of the five finals. Led by a stunning drums performance, the atmosphere inside the arena reached its climax in no time.

Among the officiating guests for the opening ceremony at the Hong Kong Colisuem were Dr. Tong Yun Kai SBS MBE DBA, President of Hong Kong Badminton Association Limited, Mr. Yang Jian, Deputy Minister, Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Mrs. Tse Ling Kit Ching, Cherry, JP, Permanent Secretary for Home Affairs, Home Affairs Bureau, Ms.Li Mei Sheung, Michelle, JP, Director of Leisure & Cultural Services, Mr. Harinder Garga, Regional Director, Banking & Administration, Sunrise and Co. (Pte) Ltd., Ms. Diana Cesar, Chief Executive Officer, Hong Kong, HSBC, and Mr. Tong Wai Lun, BBS, MH, JP, Chairman of Hong Kong Badminton Association Limited. The officiating guests proceeded with the Opening Ceremony, symbolling the Finals are officially launched.

Ahead of the five finals, the tournament organizer has arranged a stunning drums performance, the sound of the drums pushed the atmosphere to its climax. Following Mr. Tong Wai Lun’s presentation of tokens of appreciation to Mr. Darren Parks, Events Director of Badminton World Federation, YONEX-SUNRISE, title sponsor of Hong Kong Open, and HSBC, title sponsor of BWF World Tour, the tournament organizer played the highlights of Saturday’s matches, so as to allow the audience to revisit the amazing shots, and be prepared for the upcoming Women’s Double final.
