Sameer Verma of India upset seed No.3 Jan O Jorgensen in YONEX-SUNRISE Hong Kong Open Badminton Championships 2016 Men’s Singles semi-finals. World No. 43 Sameer, eliminated Jorgensen by 2:0 and will fight against Hong Kong ‘s Ng Ka Long for the crown.

Sameer Verma’s national ranking of mens singles was 24th. He eliminated 2 Japanese players and Chong Wei Feng of Malaysia became the underdog of the competition.
