Tang Chun Man/Tse Ying Suet Entered Top 8 of Mixed Doubles
Tang Chun Man/Tse Ying Suet revenged for Lee Chun Hei/Chau Hoi Wah and beat Kim Won Ho/Shin Seung Chan of Korea by 21:13 in straight games in the second round of YONEX-SUNRISE Hong Kong Open Badminton Championships.
The third day of YONEX-SUNRISE Hong Kong Open Badminton Championships started at 1pm at Hong Kong Coliseum. World No.11 left-handed pair Tang Chun Man/Tse Ying Suet faced world No. 46 Korean young players Kim Won Ho/Shin Seung Chan (Kim 18 years old, Shin 22 years old). The Koreans eliminated another Hong Kong pair Lee Chun Hei/Chau Hoi Wah.
In the first game, Tang and Tse made a lot of mistakes at the beginning, didn’t take the lead until after 7:7. They eventually won 21: 13. The second game they cruised through by 21:13 and will face China’s seed 4 Wang Yilyu/ Huang Dongping or Marvin Emil Seidel/Linda Efler of Germany in the next round.
Tse Ying Suet felt tired after the tight competition schedule since September. She said, ‘I have matches every day. It’s difficult to recover. I can only hang in there and play one game by the other.’ Tang and Tse have played together almost 2 years. After the Denmark Super Series Premier last month, their world ranking rose to No.9. Tang said, ‘The world ranking got us a lot of attention. After beating the top players in a high level competition, we gain a lot of confidence and our pressure has also increased. We hope everything will go smoothly after 2 days adjustment on the home court.’
