Tse was very disappointed after the match. She said, ‘We have some pressure since we were Hong Kong Team’s last hope for medal. The Chinese pair has very good offense and defense skills. We slowed down in the second game and couldn’t take control over the net. It’s a good lesson to learn to deal with pressure.’
Tang conclude his result in 2017. He said, ‘I haven’t expected to enter top 8. It’s unforgettable. I learned to enjoy the competition, not to give myself too much pressure.’
Hong Kong Head Coach He Yiming indicated this is Hong Kong team’s best result in Hong Kong Open. However, he was not satisfied. He said, ‘Tse/Tang have a very good beginning in today’s match. However, they didn’t hold onto the crucial points. It really broke them. As a top level player, you should be able to play in adversity. They are young and inexperienced. They will learn in the future.’ Ho believes Hong Kong team will have better performance than before in the Asian Games, especially Tse/ Tang. He said, ‘Their skills are improving. I have confidence they will be top 6 in the world. I hope they can learn more from high level competitions. I think Hong Kong has the ability to win a medal in Men’s Singles and Mixed Doubles events of Asian Games.’
