VICTOR Serves as the Title Sponsor of “VICTOR Hong Kong Open Badminton Championships 2023”
The Hong Kong Badminton Association is pleased to announce on Wednesday, 19 July, 2023, that VICTOR, a renowned and professional brand in the sport of badminton, will become the Title Sponsor of the Hong Kong Open Badminton Championships 2023, and the tournament will be officially named as VICTOR Hong Kong Open Badminton Championships 2023 part of the HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500.

Sanctioned by the Badminton World Federation (BWF) and hosted by the Hong Kong Badminton Association, the 6-day “VICTOR Hong Kong Open Badminton Championships 2023 part of the HSBC BWF World Tour Super 500” will be held from 12 to 17 September at the Hong Kong Coliseum. This tournament is one of the stops of the BWF World Tour, and the total grand prize money is US$420,000 (exceeding HK$3,200,000). As this year’s Hong Kong Open is one of the tournaments that will earn ranking points for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, more than 200 elite top players, including Olympic Games and Asia Games medalists, from over twenty countries/regions are expected to gather here to compete for the honor of the Championships.
About Hong Kong Open Badminton Championships
Since 1982, the Hong Kong Badminton Association has organized 32 years of Hong Kong Open Badminton Championships. In 2004 to 2006, the tournament was upgraded to a 6-star world class tournament, and the prize money was as high as US$250,000. Since 2007, the tournament was recognized by the BWF under its Superseries, and was named as Hong Kong Open Badminton Superseries Championships. In 2018, the BWF renamed the World Superseries as World Tour, and the Hong Kong Open was granted as Super 500. The grand prize money of the Hong Kong Open Badminton Championships keeps escalating, mounting from US$350,000 in 2012 to US$400,000 in 2016, and this year goes further up to US$420,000 which is the highest record ever making the tournament more attractive.
The tournament has been recognised as an “M” Mark event by the Major Sports Events Committee since 2005, drawing high attention from the community and making it an annual signature event in the territory.
